Clean the area where the decals will be applied with an ammonia-free cleaning product or a soft cloth dampened with denatured alcohol. This will remove any wax, oil or dust particles that will prevent the decal from sticking. Place a piece of masking tape along one edge of the decal, half on the window, half on the decal.
Step 2
Using the masking tape as a hinge, fold the the decal over.
Step 4
Carefully peel the release liner away from the decal. You should now be able to see the back of the decal.
Step 6
Starting at the edge with the hinge, use a squeegy or a credit card to rub the decal firmly into place. The decals have a pressure sensitive adhesive so the harder you rub the harder it sticks.
Step 8
If the decal starts to lift, rub the application tape back down over it a little harder and try again. If you get air bubbles, pop them with a needle or pin to release the air. If all goes well your ready to put in an application down at your local sign shop!
Step 3
Carefully peel the release liner away from the decal.
Step 5
Turn the decal back over holding it just above the surface.
Step 7
Remove the application tape by pulling gently in a downward 45° angle, do NOT pull straight out. As you remove the application tape, make sure the decal is sticking to the surface.
Note: Decals will not adhere to a surface that has wax on it. Remove all wax and residue with denatured alcohol before application. After the decals have been applied, the surface can be waxed over.
To apply extra large decals we recommend getting someone to help hold the decal in position while the other person rubs it in place. If you are uncomfortable with the process you may consider professional installation at your local sign shop. Special thanks to our hand model, Mr Lee, who's tireless devotion to ending manual labor has made his hands perfect for the job!
